HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT
The History of the Department of Zoology starts along with the history of the college itself, as the department was established in 1951 July. Prof. K. T. Almost all the specimens found in the museum and major portions of equipments in the laboratories were procured by him from various parts of the country and abroad, on behalf of the management. The M. Sc. Course was started in 1964. After retiring in 1970, prof. K. T. Kurien served the Department till 1975 under a UGC scheme of research and Post-Graduate teaching.
